‘Adventure’ Year group activities

Our year group activity package has been formulated in direct response to the challenge teachers are facing with the coronavirus pandemic. At a time where many trips are cancelled and facilities closed, we have put together a simple package of activities that are perfect for Year 6’s.

Activities included:

• Climbing

• Archery

• Skateboarding

• Team Challenges

Climbing
At the start of our climbing sessions all pupils will get a harness, learn about the equipment we will be using and get a concise safety briefing before taking on the wall. Past and present GB Paraclimbing team members regularly instruct on our climbing walls. We can’t think of better people to demonstrate just what you can achieve when you challenge yourself.

Team Challenges
This team building activity as all about working together, sharing ideas, leadership and effective communication. Working through a series of challenges, games, and tasks pupils will form strong teams test their resilience.

Skateboarding
Skateboarding is a popular activity with young people and allows them to get active, improve balance and coordination and boost confidence. Our sessions aim to give people the skills they need to skate independently so they can take up the sport outside of our sessions.

Archery
Archery is a challenging sport. We include it as part of our year 6 days because of it's a calm activity that requires focus. We often find that pupils surprise themselves and their peers in Archery!
