Skateboarding activity hire

Skateboarding is one of the newest additions to the Olympic Games and we can provide a safe and encouraging environment for young people and adults to try it. It’s challenging but rewarding and people often make huge amounts of progress in a small amount of time building self-confidence.

Instructors/coaches will always be on hand to offer tips, tricks and progression to all that take part. All we need is some flat, smooth ground such as a playground, car park or sports hall and we can get people skating. Knee, elbow, wrist pads and helmets provided.

Skateboarding is a popular activity with young people and allows them to get active, improve balance and coordination and boost confidence. Our sessions aim to give people the skills they need to skate independently so they can take up the sport outside of our sessions.

Accessibility

Skateboarding usually involves standing on a skateboard. We have in the past adapted the activity for those that use a frame or would prefer to be seated on the skateboard. The adaptive equivalent of skateboarding usually involves performing tricks and using ramps from wheelchairs. We may be able to provide ramps for this but it's unlikely we can give the same level of experience to wheelchair users.

Important information

  • Suitable for ages 5+ for drop in activity (with parents present)

  • Best for Y4/Age 8+ for structured sessions

  • ‘Queue and do’ or structured sessions

  • Max 30 participants for structured sessions

As part of a structured session we’ll focus on pair work and spotting. This will give people confidence as they roll on their board for the first time.

With a drop in format we’ll introduce each person that arrives to the basics. Once people have mastered the basics we can offer progression through ramp work and some tricks. It’s not unusual for people to stay with us all day. We sometimes bring our off-road scooters for those that don’t get on with skateboards.

With 1 instructor we can have 15-20 people riding at a time. If you need more capacity, just let us know and we can put a package together with more equipment and staff.
